What we provide
Your operator joins your working team and owns agreed workflows.
You set priorities and make business decisions. We provide matching, training, and technical support.
The problem
Executives have more work they can delegate than people they can reliably delegate it to.
Even with AI tools, someone still has to understand the business, coordinate the work, check outputs, handle exceptions, and follow through.
Typical responsibilities
- Email and inbox management
- Scheduling and meeting preparation
- Follow-ups and action tracking
- Reporting and internal updates
- Hiring and onboarding coordination
- CRM updates, pipeline follow-ups, and client onboarding
The exact scope starts with the recurring work already consuming the executive. Complex engineering initiatives require their own scope assessment.
How the relationship develops
Run it
They learn the business, your preferences, and the existing process—then take responsibility for keeping the work moving.
Improve it
They document the workflow, remove unnecessary steps, and make the process easier for everyone involved.
Automate it
They use AI and automation for the repeatable parts while continuing to own the exceptions and the outcome.
An example
A client onboarding workflow should not depend on the executive remembering every handoff.
An operator can coordinate the handoff after a sale, collect information, schedule the kickoff, maintain the CRM, and send routine reminders. As they learn the process, they document it and automate the repeatable steps while continuing to handle exceptions that require human judgment.
A person runs the work, improves the process, and remains responsible for keeping it working.
Who we serve
Growth-stage startups
Founders and operating leaders who need ownership of executive operations, hiring coordination, internal reporting, and recurring workflows.
PE-backed businesses
Start with one portfolio-company executive and a clear operational backlog. Expand across the portfolio as results justify it.
Agencies and B2B firms
Agency, consulting, recruiting, and B2B software leaders who need dependable ownership of client onboarding, pipeline coordination, and recurring operations.
The strongest fit: a leader with a clear backlog who is willing to delegate and provide context, access, and feedback. Prior AI experience is optional.
People and support
One dedicated operator, backed by ongoing training and engineering support.
We recruit former engineers and experienced executive operations professionals with substantial technical skills. Forwardbench trains operators to work effectively with AI tools and provides ongoing coaching from U.S.-based engineers for work beyond an operator’s current technical skills.
Operators use leading AI models connected to your tools, with locally hosted open-source models available on request. Our proprietary Forwardbench MCP keeps an inventory of running agents and automations, monitors uptime, makes quick repairs when they go down, and brings in U.S.-based engineers when needed. It also provides best practices for creating new agents.
Our founding team includes advisors to OpenAI, Scale, Coinbase, and Reddit, alongside former Athena executives. They have led engineering teams and staffed operators for high-growth startups and major enterprises.
